Founded in 1888, First Baptist Hammond has a rich history of serving the Lord Jesus and the surrounding community. The church reached its current peak in attendance in the mid-'80s.

 

After that, the church began to experience problems that led to more than one split. In early 2015 the church reached a low of less than 30 in attendance. Since that time, First Baptist Hammond has made a remarkable turnaround.

 

The Lord has brought us to a place of better health as a church and we are working hard to follow Him as He continues to improve our health. With health comes growth. We have seen significant growth in the spiritual life of the church as well as the number of people involved. All glory to God for this!
